Location: Norfolk, Virginia

Job Details

  • Specialty: Pediatric Emergency Room (ER PEDS)
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Shift: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours guaranteed weekend work, plus rotating holidays
  • Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:4
  • Unit Size: 31 to 40 beds/rooms/bays
  • Use of Ancillary Staff: Tech, LPN/LVN

  • Asthma
  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Neonate with fever
  • Sickle Cell Disease

  • Moderate sedations

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Virginia
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including Pediatric ER experience
  • ED experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Pediatric and Neonate patients
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer)
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Blue Card
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Triage experience

Additional Information

  • Flu vaccination required, no exemptions
  • Dress code: Scrubs
  • Parking available with pass required
