Job Overview

Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Specialty: PCU / Stepdown
Employment Type: Long-term contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days
Guaranteed work week: 36 or 48 hours
Weekend/Holiday Expectations: Every other weekend; holidays per unit needs

Unit Details

Respiratory intermediate care / stepdown unit in the critical care division
Handles fresh tracheostomies, levophed, some stable intubations, mild sedation, and DKA
Traveler may be floated up to 3 times per shift

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Rhode Island
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
Experience with tracheostomies
Experience with endotracheal tubes (ETT)
Experience with drips
Voice Advantage
Work history
Skills checklist
Reference within the last year

Additional Notes

Staffing is assessed every 4 hours
Travelers float first under the union contract
