Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Travel)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Employment Type: Travel

Job Details

Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (1 cancellation allowed per 2-week period)
Float Requirements: May float within like departments; ED nurses may float to ICU inpatient units and assist as aides if needed
On Call/Call Back: None
Patient Load: Approximately 100 patients per day, including many pediatric and asthma cases
Unit Size: 12 beds with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Work Environment: Fast-paced, requires resilience, adaptability, and strong social skills
Charting System: Meditech strongly preferred; mandatory Meditech training during compliance

Required Qualifications

Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in the specialty
Prior travel experience required (at least one completed travel contract)
COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical or religious exemption

Additional Information

No requests for return to office (RTO) over 7 days
Orientation is bi-weekly with 12 hours of non-billable orientation time
Scrub color: Royal Blue
