Job Summary

The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Care is delivered using the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and available resources within the institution’s philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all duties required by the unit within the scope of service.
• Implement procedures and theories related to the specific area of practice.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care for use by the healthcare team.
• Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
• Implement and modify plans of care and nursing interventions based on continuous evaluation.
• Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and resolve issues professionally.
• Provide constructive feedback to support peer development and collaborate to expand knowledge.
• Identify personal learning needs and take initiative to address them.
• Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years relevant nursing experience.
• ASN (Associate of Science in Nursing) required; BSN preferred.
• Illinois state RN license in good standing.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
