RN Emergency Department Urgent Care

Location: Sellersburg, Indiana Employment Type: Clinical, Nursing Specialty: Hospital, Direct Patient Care (Nursing) Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 3rd shift, 3x12s (7p-7a), weekends and holidays as needed Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week

Role Summary

The RN provides direct patient care on the unit, including nursing rounds, assessments, and treatments; admission, transfer, and discharge activities; patient and family education; and care coordination and individualized treatment planning. Nursing practice follows evidence-based standards, hospital policies, and regulatory and professional guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, identify risk factors, and prioritize needs.
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures, and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Set priorities for multiple patients, organize workload based on acuity, and delegate and oversee team members.
• Execute discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinate discharge plans with Case Management and others.
• Participate in unit quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, falls, pressure ulcers, CAUTIs, and documentation audits.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Kentucky
• Emergency Department experience of at least 1 year, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Urgent Care experience
