Role Overview
- Staff Registered Nurse (RN) providing care for a group of patients on a medical unit.
- Shift: Days, 7:00am–7:30pm
- Hours: 36 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Med Surg (3 years of experience)
- Med Surg experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- BSN
Key Responsibilities
- Perform unit-specific responsibilities within the scope of service
- Use the nursing process to complete initial assessments, develop plans of care, implement interventions, and modify care based on ongoing evaluation
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation
- Support patient and employee safety by reporting and/or correcting hazards and incidents
- Communicate directly and privately when needed to resolve issues
- Provide constructive feedback to peers and identify personal learning needs
- Fulfill departmental competencies
