<h3>Assignment Overview</h3><ul><li>Shift: Days, 3x12hrs</li><li>Hours: 36 hrs/wk</li><li>Start Date: Nov 9, 2026</li><li>Length: 13 weeks</li><li>Openings: 2</li></ul><h3>Description</h3><p>American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week assignment requiring prior travel experience and a valid CA RN license, BLS, and ACLS certifications.</p><h3>Details</h3><ul><li>Medical Surgical unit caring for adult and geriatric patients</li><li>Patient ratio of 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends</li><li>Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM-7:30 PM, Monday-Friday</li><li>Floating required</li><li>Weekend coverage required as needed</li></ul><h3>Requirements</h3><ul><li>Active CA RN license required in-hand at time of application (EMSA not accepted)</li><li>Current BLS and ACLS certifications required in-hand</li><li>Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in acute care and Med/Surg specialty required</li><li>Epic EMR experience required and must be documented in work history</li><li>Prior travel nursing experience required</li><li>Two supervisor references required</li><li>Experience with IV therapy, port access, blood product administration, PICC/peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs</li><li>Experience managing GI conditions including bariatric surgery, bowel obstruction, and ostomy care</li><li>Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care</li><li>Experience with renal/genitourinary care including CBI and hemodialysis management</li><li>Experience managing cardiac drips, PCA, and interpreting/managing dysrhythmias</li><li>Telemetry monitoring and rapid response/code team experience</li><li>Wound care/wound vac and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge</li></ul><h3>Additional Information</h3><ul><li>Care for patients across Med/Surg, Tele, Orthopedics, Cardiovascular, and Plastics specialties</li><li>Must be comfortable managing total joint replacement, post-angiogram, and surgical drain patients</li><li>First-time travelers will not be considered for this role</li><li>Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers</li><li>Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year to return as a traveler</li></ul>
