Job Opportunity: Radiology / Cardiology Travel/Contract Position
Location: Los Alamitos, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- 5x8 Day shift, Monday-Friday
- Weekend call required
Required Qualifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (Nuclear Medicine Technologist) Certification
- State License
- Cerner Experience
Preferred Qualifications
- NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) Certification
Time Off (RTO) Policy
- RTO (Request Time Off) must be submitted with the application.
- No RTO allowed during the first two weeks of the assignment.
- Once RTO is submitted, it cannot be changed except to cancel time off.
- Confirm all needed time off for the full 13-week contract before submitting.
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, EFM as applicable by specialty/unit
- Tech certifications required based on role (e.g., CRCST or CST for Sterile Processing Techs, CRT for Interventional Radiology Techs)
- Signed HIPAA acknowledgment required
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs and LVNs
- Unit-specific competency exams (e.g., Dysrhythmia/EKG for Telemetry RNs)
- Pass/fail testing for medication calculation and arrhythmia recognition (for applicable nursing roles)
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification required for ER and Behavioral Health RNs/CNAs
Background & Verification Requirements
- Criminal background check within 1 year, updated annually, including statewide, nationwide, sex offender, SS trace, and federal searches
- Education verification required for Sterile Processing Techs and other specified roles
- Proof of education (transcript/diploma) required if no certification is held
- Fingerprinting (Livescan) required for certain cash-handling positions
- Verification of state license and professional certifications
- References: 2 references within 1 year from leadership or supervisors in the specialty
- Employment application and work history verification for the past 3 years
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 1 year, updated annually
- Fit mask testing (N95) within 1 year, renewed annually
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- TB (negative PPD, TSpot, or chest X-ray)
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (series or declination)
- Hepatitis C titer preferred; declination accepted with reason
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap or Pertussis titer if unable to obtain vaccine
- Seasonal flu vaccination required by December 5 (declinations accepted with masking requirements)
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation for current season or declination with masking requirements
Facility-Specific Information
- Scrub colors required by role (e.g., Navy Blue for RNs/LVNs, Charcoal Grey for CNA/MA)
- Orientation modules and safety manual acknowledgments completed onsite
- Various facility-specific packets and acknowledgments required prior to or during orientation (e.g., confidentiality agreement, sexual violence and harassment policy, infection control exam)
- Badge and access requirements including flu and COVID vaccination documentation submission for badge tags
- Some training and competency validations completed onsite after start
