Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Inpatient

Location: Aurora, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Rotating shift pharmacist position covering mornings, evenings, and every other weekend.
  • 20-30 hours per week.
  • Work may be in clinical shifts or central pharmacy.
  • Experience with EPIC and Pyxis systems is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Licensed Pharmacist in Illinois.
  • Experience with EPIC and Pyxis.
  • Must meet all state and facility licensing and credentialing requirements.

Required Certifications & Training

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association (AHA) only.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only.
  • Illinois Mandatory Reporting Training for clinical patient-facing/in-person positions.
  • Other certifications as applicable to pharmacy practice.

Background & Compliance Requirements

  • Background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
  • Drug testing: 9-panel drug screen (excluding marijuana) within 90 days of start.
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, confirming fitness to work without restrictions.
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (valid within 10 years; declinations accepted with documentation).
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable.
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or positive IgG titers.
    • Hepatitis B surface antibody titer or declination form.
    • Varicella vaccination or positive IgG titer.
  • Fingerprinting and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) registry enrollment as required.
  • Completion of facility-specific health and safety documentation.

Additional Requirements

  • Must complete employment application including 7 years of employment history and explanations for gaps.
  • Two professional references within 3 years of hire (for direct hire).
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
  • Orientation safety manual acknowledgement.

Work Schedule

  • Rotating shifts including mornings, afternoons/evenings.
  • Every other weekend coverage required.
