Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shifts: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
  • Schedule: Every other weekend rotation, holidays, and 1 on-call shift every 6 weeks
  • Facility Type: Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital experience required
  • Patient Population: Pediatric and adult experience preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin (WI RCP)
  • National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a staff respiratory therapist, including experience within the last year
  • Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an academic Level 1 trauma center or similar large hospital setting
  • Pediatric and adult respiratory therapy experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including SSN trace, nationwide, sex offender, and state-specific caregiver screening (WI)
  • Education verification for respiratory therapy program graduation
  • Drug screening as per clinical standards
  • Physical exam (to meet agency standard)
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • TB testing and questionnaire
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or exemption
    • Varicella vaccination or exemption
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination form
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
    • Other vaccines as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal for certain departments)
  • Required certifications must be current and from the American Heart Association (AHA):
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) as applicable
    • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) if required by unit
  • Facility-specific competency exams and orientation acknowledgments
  • Telemetry testing and remediation process if applicable
