Job Opportunity: CVOR Tech

Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Locals accepted; first-time travelers accepted
• 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience required
• Experience in Vascular and Cardiac surgery required
• Weekend call and night on-call required (weekday nights: 12 hours; weekends: 24-48 hours)
• Regular work hours alternate between 6:30 AM–5:00 PM and 9:30 AM–8:00 PM
• Scrub experience preferably in General Surgery, Urology, and Orthopedics
• Experience with trauma patients required (Level 2 trauma center)
• Cerner charting system used
• Scrubs provided

Required Qualifications

• CVOR Technologist with 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
• Experience in Vascular and Cardiac surgery
• Experience working with Level 2 Trauma patients
• Certification as a CST, NBSTSA, or NCCT
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience with trauma patients

Required Certifications & Training

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) recommended depending on unit
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) recommended for trauma-related units
• Pass/Fail “In House Skills Assessment” during orientation (contract may be cancelled if failed)
• Signed HIPAA statement and orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• Core mandatory training with testing (annual updates required)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start and updated annually (not required for all roles)
• Immunizations/vaccinations or positive titers required for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (vaccines or positive titer)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (medical/religious exemptions accepted with approval)
• 10-panel drug test within 60 days of start

Additional Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start (7-year search including national and statewide checks)
• Education verification required
• Work history documenting 2 years of recent, relevant experience
• 2 current references from supervisors or educators within the past 2 years
• Skills checklist appropriate to assigned unit completed within last 12 months
• Performance evaluation completed by agency within last 12 months
• Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgements required prior to start

Work Environment & Schedule

• Level 2 trauma center environment
• Call schedule includes weekends and nights
• Floating between multiple campuses may be required

• Prior travel experience is not required
• Scrubs are provided for this assignment

This position is ideal for experienced CVOR Techs with strong vascular, cardiac, and trauma OR experience who are flexible with call schedules and able to work in a high-acuity trauma center environment.
