Job Opportunity: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Travel/Contract
Location: Rio Rancho, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Job Description
- Work in an inpatient hospital and rehabilitation setting (experience required).
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude and patient-centered approach.
- Patients typically have a length of stay of about 14 days.
- Must be willing to work Fridays and every other weekend (block scheduling not accommodated).
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Locals accepted.
- Attire: Any solid color scrubs, close-toed shoes required.
- Charting system used: Cerner.
- Free parking available.
Required Qualifications
- License: Current LVN / LPN license valid in New Mexico. Proof of license must be provided at time of submission.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of LVN/LPN experience required.
- Certifications:
- Current CPR certification required.
- ACLS certification preferred; required if in Charge Nurse role.
- Other:
- Inpatient hospital and rehab experience required (not nursing home or LTAC).
- Must be motivated, caring, and proactive.
- Must provide government-issued photo ID.
- Must complete background checks and health screenings as required.
Schedule & Work Conditions
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift details provided upon assignment.
- Must work Fridays and every other weekend.
- No on-call requirement.
- No floating between units.
- Time off requests must be approved prior to offer and given with more than 24 hours' notice.
- Cannot guarantee every holiday off.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Government-issued photo ID.
- Emergency contact form prior to start.
- Background checks including 7-year history and annual updates.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS (if applicable), PALS (preferred).
- State license verification.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date.
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year.
- Immunization or titer proof for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella.
- Drug screening (9 panel) within 1 year.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31).
- COVID vaccine preferred (no declination required).
- New Mexico fingerprinting and demographic forms required prior to start.

- References: 2 professional references for travel/allied/per diem acute care roles.
