Job Opportunity: MRI Tech

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 2 PM to 10 PM
  • Facility is a Level 1 Trauma center with ICU and Pediatrics units
  • Requires experience with adult ICU, pediatrics, and adult acute care
  • Must be able to ambulate, reach, and move objects over 20 lbs
  • Position involves contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
  • Facility operates 24/7, including holidays and inclement weather
  • Rotating shifts, weekend work, call duties, and holiday coverage required (at least 50% of holidays)

Required Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
  • Previous travel experience preferred
  • Experience with Siemens, McKesson, and Cerner systems
  • Experience in adult ICU, pediatrics, and adult acute care settings

Required Certifications and Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA or ARC Provider card)
  • AART or ARMRIT certification (MRI Tech specific)
  • State license for Radiology Tech (Missouri) required with primary source verification within 60 days of start
  • Additional certifications may be required depending on patient population and unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – verify with recruiter if applicable

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Active role requiring physical stamina and ability to move equipment and patients
  • Exposure to contagious illnesses is routine
  • Must be able to work full shifts, take call, and cover weekends and holidays as scheduled

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background checks including 7-year history, federal and state criminal searches, sex offender registry, social security trace, and international checks if applicable
  • Drug screening (7-panel negative test within 60 days of start)
  • Immunizations and health screenings including:
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • Tdap vaccination within 10 years or approved exemption
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or approved exemption
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test within 1 year of start (specific mask types required)
  • Photo for badge (new candidates only)
  • Completion of facility-specific forms and agreements within 60 days of start

Additional Notes

  • Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps over 30 days
  • Two professional references within the last 2 years required
  • Must be able to work at the assigned location for the full contract term
  • Must be able to work the majority of assigned shifts, including weekends, holidays, and call
