Registered Nurse – Outpatient Clinic
Location: Portland, Oregon

Job Overview
- Clinic-based role focused on foregut/esophageal surgery patient care coordination.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including surgeons, APPs, RNs, MAs, and schedulers.
- Responsibilities include care coordination, patient assessment and triage, medication management, clinical support, patient education, and follow-up care.
- Manage both benign and malignant foregut conditions.
- Perform medical record review, follow protocols, assist with scheduling, monitor diagnostic results, and participate in quality reviews.
- Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5x8 hour days). Hours may vary.
- No on-call required.
- EPIC outpatient experience is required.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum of 1 year of clinic experience, with clinic experience within the last year.
- Experience in an outpatient setting.
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued photo ID required on first day.
- Background check (Advanced Reporting with OHSU package) must be completed within 6 months prior to start.
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position.
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required (charge RN references not accepted unless direct supervisor).
- Education verification and work history verification required through Advanced Reporting.
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel including methamphetamines within 3 months prior to start.
- Immunizations/vaccinations required or signed declinations for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap preferred)
- Hepatitis B (full series or immune titer)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (immune titer or vaccines)
- Varicella (immune titer or vaccines)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or signed declination (deadline 12/01/2025)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months prior to start; TB questionnaire required.
- Fit testing for respiratory protection must be completed through the agency prior to start (not onsite).
- ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications not required for this role.
- Completion of facility-specific online modules prior to start, including:
- Information Privacy and Security Essentials
- Integrity Foundations
- Harassment Prevention Fundamentals
- Glucometer 2026 and Omnicell Nurse Patient Care Training (exemptions apply)
- Vocera Badge Training (for inpatient RNs only)
- Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Facility-specific orientation materials and policies must be reviewed.
Additional Notes
- Candidate must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date.
- No on-call or weekend shifts.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
