Job Summary: MS/Tele Registered Nurse (RN) - New Jersey (Belleville)

Job Description

• Work on a Med/Surg/Oncology unit providing care to post-op, med/surg, and oncology patients receiving chemotherapy.
• Responsibilities include administration and monitoring of chemotherapy and post-surgical care.
• Willingness to float to similar or less complex specialties as needed.
• Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM.
• Orientation includes computer training at home (Day 1) and on-unit training (Day 2).
• Charting system: EPIC (previous experience required).
• Maximum of 2 shifts per week allowed.
• Cancellation policy: 3 last-minute cancellations (within 24-48 hours) may lead to review or final warning.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Education

• Minimum 1.5 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year.
• Oncology nursing experience including administration and monitoring of chemotherapy.
• Post-surgical care experience.
• IV therapy and phlebotomy experience.
• Experience using IV pumps.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.

Technical Skills

• Experience with EPIC charting system.

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required.

Orientation & Training Requirements

• 1st day: Computer training at home.
• 2nd day: On-unit training starting at 7:00 AM.
• Must complete required pass/fail competency exams (e.g., medication, EKG, IV therapy) within 72 hours of signing.
• Must complete annual education and safety sign-offs prior to start.

Health & Compliance Requirements

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start.
• Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions.
• Drug screen within 30 days of start.
• Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually.
• Fit test and respiratory medical clearance required prior to start.
• Color vision test and latex allergy questionnaire as applicable.
• Background checks including criminal, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and state-specific exclusions within 30 days of start.
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history.
• Work history verification per New Jersey state requirements.

Additional Notes

• Scrubs color: Navy Blue.
• Free parking available on the fifth floor (roof top) of the parking garage.
• 1-year separation required for previous staff returning.
• Must comply with facility floating policy.
• Cancellation and no-show policies strictly enforced.
• Must complete all required documentation and clearances prior to start.

This position is ideal for experienced Med/Surg/Telemetry RNs with oncology and chemotherapy experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment and have EPIC charting skills.
