Pediatric OR Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract
Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work in an 11-bed Pediatric Operating Room.
- Shift: Day shifts, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Off-shift rotation, on-call required (1-2 call shifts per week, including weekdays and weekends).
- Weekends required.
- Pediatric OR experience required; Scrub experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nebraska.
- Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Compliance & Background Checks
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID).
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start.
- Education verification (transcript or diploma acceptable).
- Nebraska DHHS Adult & Child Services Registry Search within 30 days of start.
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days of start.
- National tech certification verification within 30 days of start.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam completed within 12 months prior to start (by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN).
- Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (specific mask types required).
- Tdap vaccine required.
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD) within 12 months prior to start; annual updates required. Positive TB requires additional documentation and chest X-ray.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer; boosters required for low/equivocal titers. Medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation.
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer or completed vaccine series required; no declinations allowed. Medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of disease; boosters required for low/equivocal titers. Medical or religious exemptions accepted with documentation.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required for all new starts beginning 10/1/2025, or approved exemption (religious, medical, or declination). Exemptions must be updated yearly.
- Negative 10-panel drug screen including THC within 12 months prior to start; instant tests accepted.
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references within 2 years of start date.
- Annual skills checklist update required.
- Unit competency exam required.
- Completion of facility-specific Cognito form at least 6 business days before start date (includes submission of all required documents and verifications).
