Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Beckley, West Virginia

Job Details

• Residency Requirement: Must reside within 75 miles of facility

Required Experience

• Minimum 2+ years of current RN experience in specialty area

Work Schedule

• Schedule follows a 36/48 hour rotation over two weeks (unless otherwise noted)

Required Qualifications & Compliance

• Valid RN license in West Virginia
• Telemetry experience with a minimum of 2 years, including experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Must provide unexpired government-issued photo ID
• Background checks including national and county searches, sex offender, fugitive, violent offender databases, and others as required
• Drug testing per facility protocol within 30 days of start date
• Annual physical exam or physician note stating clearance to work without restrictions
• Fit mask testing completed onsite (PAPRs not accommodated; exemptions reviewed onsite)
• Immunizations and health documentation required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (valid within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test (QuantiFERON blood test within 1 year; T-Spot/PPD not accepted)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) proof of vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (must be applied for within 48 hours of offer acceptance)
• Competency exams required annually including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG (except Psych, OR, Rehab, Med Surg), and core competencies
• References: Two professional references within 1 year of start date (one must be a supervisor)
• Work history verification for the past 7 years required
• State-specific background checks and registry verifications as applicable

Additional Notes

• Float assignments required within scope of practice
• Driver’s license required for submission
• Candidates should not be submitted to more than one job at a time
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with current certifications and licensure who are comfortable with variable patient ratios and floating within their scope. The role requires compliance with extensive health, background, and competency documentation prior to start.
