Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Oakland, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Work required if holiday falls on scheduled shift
- Call: None
- Role Focus: Circulate for C-Section, recover C-section patients, pain assessment and management
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Ability to circulate for C-Section procedures
- Experience recovering C-Section patients
- Pain assessment and management skills
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
Compliance and Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks (within 90 days prior to start):
- SSN Trace
- 7-year Nationwide, County, and National Criminal searches
- FACIS Level 3
- National Sex Offender Registry
- OIG Sanction Search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM verification
- Education Verification: Highest level of education must be verified and meet minimum requirements
- Physical Exam: Within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, NP, or APRN confirming good health and ability to perform duties
- Fit Mask Test: Within 90 days of start; acceptable masks include 3M 8210, 3M 1860S, 3M 1860R; PAPR accepted if fit test failed (with approval)
- Immunizations and Health Screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or signed declination (TD not accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray updated annually, with specific protocols for positive or intermediate results
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (2 MMR vaccinations or positive IgG titers)
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer required or proof of vaccine series or signed declination
- Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive IgG titer
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or declination required annually by November 6; masking required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
- Drug Testing: Oral saliva drug screen within 30 days of start; rapid tests not accepted; must cover specified analytes
- Color Blind Exam: Within 90 days of start (Ishihara test acceptable)
- Employment History Verification: Past 3 years verified; current resume covering last 7 years required
- References: Must meet agency requirements (not facility requirement)
- Competencies and Orientation: Must complete facility-specific competencies and new employee orientation modules by end of first day; failure to complete within 14 days results in termination

- All documentation must be current, unencumbered, and compliant with facility and agency standards
