Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Contract Length: 16 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holidays required as scheduled
  • Floating required within specialty, sister units, and lower acuity areas as needed

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Cath Lab experience required
  • Preferred: at least 3 years Cath Lab experience

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) preferred/required as applicable

Competencies

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Age Specific Competency Exam (score 80% or higher)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (score 80% or higher, excludes some roles)

Health Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start (including Latex Screen)
  • Fit Mask Test within 1 year of start
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray with annual updates
  • TB Questionnaire if positive TB result
  • Immunizations or positive titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination; series not accepted)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start (instant tests not accepted)
  • Flu Vaccine or Medical/Religious exemption required during flu season (10/6-3/31)
  • COVID vaccine not required for this location but documentation collected for tracking

Background and Verification

  • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
  • Education verification for highest level of education
  • Maryland State Exclusions List check within 30 days of start
  • Two supervisory references within 1 year of start
  • Employment application/resume completed within 30 days of start
  • Verification of previous 5 years of employment history (attestation accepted if necessary)

Facility Specific Information

  • Uniform: Navy blue scrubs; pink for trauma; pediatric staff may wear child-friendly tops with navy blue pants
  • Dress code: Business casual for GOR department or case management (no jeans, no open-toe shoes, no sleeveless tops, no shorts)
  • Passport-style photo with solid white/beige background required for badge
  • Confidentiality agreement and job description must be signed prior to start
  • Security ID application must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract

This position requires flexibility with floating and weekend/holiday shifts, adherence to strict health and background screening protocols, and competency in Cath Lab nursing with at least 2 years of experience.
