Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Job Summary
- Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
- Unit: Medical Surgical / Remote Telemetry
- Diagnoses: Diabetes, med/surg, post-op, wound vacs, bariatrics
- Ratio/Census: 1:5-6; 33 beds with average daily census of 28
- Unit Systems: Epic (required), Pyxis, SBAR
- Scrub Color: Navy Blue
- Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days
- Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
- Floating: Yes
- Call Requirements: None
- Holiday Work: Required to work major holidays during assignment (expectations vary based on number of holidays)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum Specialty Experience: 1 year
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on specialty area
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may be required based on unit assignment (refer to specialty requirements)
Compliance & Orientation
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may push start date by 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
Required Documentation & Health Screenings
- Valid Driver’s License/State ID (Photo ID required)
- Background Check (must be completed within 30 days prior to start)
- Education Verification (degree verification required; can be pending with proof of processing)
- State Nursing License verification (must be valid for Georgia)
- NURSYS Verification (annual)
- Physical Exam (within 1 year of start)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (within 12 months) and TB Questionnaire (updated annually)
- Immunizations:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
- Hepatitis B series or signed declination
- Flu vaccine or declination (strongly encouraged during flu season)
- Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (cannot start with results pending)
Competency Exams
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, IMCU, ER, Cardiac step-down, ICU, PCU)
Work Environment & Policies
- Floating between units may be required
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
- Must review and sign Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
Additional Notes
- Locals accepted at the same rate
- Candidate profile review by manager within 48 hours after confirmation to ensure fit for unit/schedule/expertise
- References: 2 clinical references required by agency (not required by client)
- Skills checklist and work history verification required (can be pending with proof of processing)
