• Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
• 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Job Description

• Float to various areas including X-ray, Emergency Department, Main, Portables, and possibly OR if applicable
• Perform all routine radiology procedures, including GI/BE portables
• Use a mixture of Siemens, GE, and Carestream equipment
• Average caseload: 12-15 cases per shift
• Charting systems: EPIC and McKesson (Change Healthcare PACS)
• First-time travelers accepted
• Must have good customer service skills and be flexible
• Dress code: Royal Blue top with Black bottoms or all Royal Blue

Required Experience

• Minimum 1.5 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty

Required Certifications and Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA, RQI, or AHA instructor cards accepted)
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
• New Jersey state license required prior to start (quick process, within 2 weeks of applying)

Prior Travel Experience

• Not required (first-time travelers accepted)

Additional Requirements

• Must complete floating policy for every new assignment
• Good customer service skills and flexibility required

Clearance and Compliance Requirements

Background Checks

• Criminal background check within 30 days of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• State-specific exclusions list check (New Jersey Department of Treasury Exclusions List) within 30 days of start and for extensions
• Attestation regarding pending background searches required at start if background is pending

Health and Immunization Documents

• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
• Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
• Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption annually (required by specified deadlines)
• Proof of immunity or vaccination for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or compliant vaccine series)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within past 10 years
• Drug screen (10-panel urine) within 30 days of start
• Fit test and respiratory medical clearance if job tasks require respirator use (N-95)
• Latex allergy questionnaire if applicable
• Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination

Competency and Testing

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required within 72 hours of signing, valid within 12 months
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required within 72 hours of signing (specific to certain units)
• Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication exams with remediation process for failures

References and Work History

• Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
• Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
• Work history verification required for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start, allowing 30-day gaps or less)

Orientation and Training

• Annual education sign-off and review of annual education materials required prior to start and updated annually
• OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training required
• Facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required

Summary

This is a 13-week travel contract for an X-Ray Tech with at least 1.5 years of experience in Radiology/Cardiology. The position requires BLS and ARRT certifications, a New Jersey license, and the ability to float across multiple departments. First-time travelers are welcome. Compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, immunizations, and competency exams is mandatory. The schedule is primarily night shifts on four days per week.
