Location: Stockbridge, Georgia

Job Details

Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 14 weeks
Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
Unit Systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR
Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:2-3 (may take a 3rd patient)
Average Daily Census: 19 patients in 24 rooms
Scheduling: Block scheduling not guaranteed
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Floating: Yes, within facility and scope of practice as needed
Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)
Return to Office (RTO): Maximum 7 days

Required Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty
1st time travelers accepted
Prior travel experience: Not required

Required Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
NIH Stroke Certification (check unit description for requirement)

Clinical Skills & Diagnoses

Experience with conditions such as ARDS, Sepsis, Stroke, STEMI, DKA, Post-op complications, Cardiogenic shock, GIB, COPD exacerbation, encephalopathy, Liver failure, Drug overdose, ESRD on CRRT

Required Licenses

Valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Georgia

Orientation & Compliance

Number of Non-Billable Orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
Clinical screening required to determine clinical fit before final approval

Health & Background Requirements

Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
Physical exam within 12 months of start
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer or signed declination)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap highly recommended)
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination required
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start
Annual NURSYS license verification

Competency Exams (Aya Required)

Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
Color Blind Testing Online
Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for ICU and related units)
General Competency Exam

Additional Notes

Scrub color: Navy Blue
No travel pairs allowed (even if one traveler is on another unit)
Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies including Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy

This position is suitable for ICU RNs with at least 2 years of experience, comfortable with adult to geriatric critical care patients, and able to meet the certification and compliance requirements listed above.
