Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)

Location: Lexington, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Friday and Saturday
• 2 shifts of 12 hours each (2x12s)
• 3rd shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Call, weekends, and holidays required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Radiology / Cardiology specialty
• Accepts first-time travelers (prior travel experience NOT required)

Certifications & Licenses

• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography) required
• Kentucky state license required
• ACLS, PALS, NRP, and other certifications may be required depending on unit (refer to unit-specific requirements)

Skills & Competencies

• Experience with GE, PACS, Siemens equipment preferred
• O-ARM experience preferred
• Epic system experience required
• Ability to cover emergency surgery and fluoroscopy cases if needed
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Scrub color: navy

Background & Verification Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• Education verification required matching specialty; diploma or transcript acceptable if verification unavailable
• Employment history verification may be required if background check reveals issues (last 2 years, explain gaps over 30 days)
• Drug screening: Negative 9-panel urine drug screen within 90 days of start
• References: 2 professional references required (1 for non-clinical)
• Skills checklist and competency exams required, updated annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (not required by facility but required by agency standards)
• Fit mask test required annually (exceptions apply)
• Tdap vaccine within 10 years required (declination acceptable for non-clinical)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or titer required (declinations not accepted)
• Hepatitis B vaccination or declination required
• Varicella vaccination or titer required (declinations not accepted)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

Additional Notes

• Candidate must provide a badge photo meeting specific criteria (clear, no filters, solid background)
• Must comply with facility-specific policies on flu and COVID exemptions
• Respiratory fit test waiver available for failed fit tests with medical or religious reasons
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
• Color blindness testing required prior to start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for certain specialties and updated annually
