- 12-hour shifts, Day/Evening
- Monday to Friday variation
- Typical shifts: 0630-1900, with potential shift 0940-2210
- Weekday and weekend call responsibilities
Contract Length
- 17 weeks
Minimum Requirements
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area (3 or above)
Licensure & Certification
- Wisconsin nursing license or compact license from permanent address state
- BLS & ACLS certifications (American Heart Association only)
Orientation & Competency Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency exams as applicable to specialty
- Pass/Fail Telemetry Testing (EKG/Medication) with strict deadlines and remediation process
- Pediatric and Adult Telemetry Tests required for inpatient units
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing (for telemetry)
Background & Compliance Checks
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including SSN trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire and monthly thereafter
- Education Verification required for RN (Associate’s degree or higher)
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening within 90 days of start
- High School Diploma/GED verification as applicable
- State-specific searches and compliance with Wisconsin state mandates
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (collected to meet standard, not required by facility)
- Fit mask testing completed onsite
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof (if applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframe
- TB Questionnaire annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical/religious exemptions allowed with approval
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form (required for direct patient care)
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer; medical/religious exemptions allowed
- Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required annually during flu season)
- Drug testing per standard (required for clinical candidates; pharmacy department has additional requirements)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination (for Microbiology Department staff)
Facility Specific Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except religious/medical)
- Communicable Disease Form (completed within 90 days of start)
- Flu Medical and Religious Exemption Forms (if applicable)
- Pediatric and Adult Telemetry Tests with remediation process for failed attempts
- Rhythm Interpretation Course required if remediation needed for telemetry exams
- Study guides provided for telemetry exams
- Hepatitis B, MMR, Varicella, and other vaccine waivers require facility-specific forms and approvals
