Job Description
- First Time Travelers Accepted
- Call Requirement: On call every 3rd or 4th weekend starting Friday 5:30 PM through Monday 7:00 AM
- Skillset Required:
- Proficient in both peripheral vascular IR and neuro vascular IR
- Technologist must be able to scrub both peripheral and neuro cases including:
- Stents, Angioplasty, Angiograms, Nephrogram, Peripherals, Drainages, Upper and Lower Extremity, Abdomen and Pelvic, Vascular Studies, Venous Access, Neurological Studies
- Department Details:
- 4 IR rooms (2 single plane and 2 biplane Siemens c-arms)
- Two IR techs per room (one circulates, one scrubs)
- Procedures include Level 1 trauma, PE, stroke, vascular and neuro interventional procedures such as angiograms, embolizations, nephrostomy, IVC filter placement, PE thrombectomy, intracranial thrombectomy, stent placements, central line insertions, etc.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Interventional Radiology
- Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on cost center
- Other certifications may be required based on facility/unit specifics
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License or Passport (clear copy)
- Background checks including:
- 7 years residence/work history verification
- SSN Trace, County Criminal, Statewide, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level III
- Education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
- Transcript/Diploma (official and clear copy)
- State License verification (within 30 days before start)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit Mask test within 12 months of start (specific respirators approved)
- Immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (preferred but not required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
- Hepatitis B series, titer or signed declination required
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted
- Drug Testing: Negative 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
- Color Blind Exam (Ishihara or equivalent) with minimum 100% score
- References: Minimum 2 from recent employment with appropriate supervisory titles
- Skills Checklist within 12 months and annually thereafter
- Employment application covering last 7 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days
Additional Notes
- Call-in shifts must be made up or added to the end of the contract depending on FTE status
- Mandatory facility-specific orientation and compliance forms must be completed prior to start
- Some certifications and training modules may be required depending on the specific unit or role
- On-site fit testing is limited and must be approved if required
