Job Opportunity: OT Acute Care Hospital
Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- 100% inpatient role
- Acute inpatient rehabilitation and acute care experience preferred
- Schedule: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM Monday-Friday with alternating Saturday weekend rotation and holiday coverage
- Missouri state license required (can be submitted with pending status)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Missouri
- Minimum of 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience in a Rehabilitation setting
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- BLS (AHA or ARC accepted; Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable; AHA highly preferred)
- PALS (AHA only; Instructor, Provider, and RQI acceptable)
- NRP (check if required)
- Tech Cert Verification - National (required within 30 days of start)
- EPIC Pass/Fail Testing (administered onsite; 2 attempts allowed)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Color Blind Testing (Relias online exam acceptable)
- Competency Exams as applicable to profession/specialty
Background Checks & Verifications
- 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 60 days of start
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Missouri state-specific search (MO EDL) required within 60 days of start
- Primary source verification of Missouri OT license within 30 days of start (permanent license required; temporary not accepted)
- NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Mask fit test within 12 months of start (specific mask models required)
- Negative TB test (PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year; if positive, clear chest x-ray within 5 years and TB questionnaire within 1 year
- TB questionnaire required annually regardless of TB test result
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required if applicable (within 10 years)
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31) or approved exemption
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references required
- Employment application required
- Annual skills checklist required
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge
- Completion of facility-specific e-learning within 3-5 days of receiving access
- Acknowledgement of EPIC pass/fail testing
Work Environment & Notes
- Acute inpatient rehabilitation and acute care setting
- Alternating weekend and holiday coverage required
- Must comply with all facility-specific documentation and credentialing requirements
This position is ideal for Occupational Therapists with acute care and inpatient rehab experience who are licensed or eligible for licensure in Missouri and are comfortable with a travel contract assignment.
