Wound Care Registered Nurse - Florida (Melbourne)

Job Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse (Wound Care)
• Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8 hours)
• Hours per week: 40 hours
• Float required to cover wound consults at 4 hospitals within the system
• Primary location has the highest volume of consults; floating to community hospitals may occur a couple of times per week
• Weekend shifts and on-call are not required
• Block schedule accommodation depends on unit needs and requires manager approval
• Scrubs: Any solid color (bring your own or wear provided scrubs)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida
• Minimum 1 year of wound care nursing experience within the last year
• Wound Care Certified (WCC) or Ostomy Certified (WOCN) certification required at time of application
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including international searches
• Monthly federal exclusion screenings (HHS/OIG) required
• Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting recommended)
• Education verification required; candidates from certain disqualified institutions will not be accepted
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start (required by Florida law for all patient-facing staff)
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy; no PAPR alternatives)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 3 months of start (QGold or 2-step PPD accepted; Tspot not accepted)
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Required immunization titers within 5 years: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (quantitative titers only; immunization records not accepted)
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption documentation required annually during flu season

• Contracted hours are guaranteed
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
• Finalized Return to Office (RTO) schedule must be submitted with application; no changes accepted after offer
• Facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, values attestation, and badge photo required
• Radiation badge monitoring form required only for certain departments (not applicable here)

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with wound care certification and experience, comfortable with floating between multiple hospital locations, and able to meet strict compliance and immunization requirements.
