Home Health Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Tukwila, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (5x8 hours), 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours: 40 hours per week (30 patient visits guaranteed weekly)

Job Overview

• Specialty: Home Health Nursing
• Patient Load: Approximately 5-7 patients per day (geriatric cases)
• Documentation: All charting must be completed by 9:00 AM the following morning
• Territory: Up to a 60-mile radius from the office; flexibility with territory required
• Dress Code: Scrubs of any color; jeans are not allowed
• Technology Provided: iPad provided; cell phone use not allowed during work
• Mileage: Reimbursed at IRS standard rate
• Locals accepted at travel rate
• First-time travel nurses not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Minimum 1 year of Home Health experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with OASIS

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Background checks within 90 days of start, including:

  • SSN Trace, County searches (last 7 years), FACIS Level 1, Nationwide Sex Offender, Motor Vehicle Records, Education and Work History Verification
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
• Fingerprinting required for candidates who have not lived in Washington for the past 3 years (completed on-site)
• Education verification of highest degree related to profession
• State-specific criminal history and employability status checks as applicable
• Signed Acceptable Use Policy prior to start
• Agency background attestation required

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within the last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit mask test (N95 accepted)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year or chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
• Annual TB questionnaire required
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Hepatitis B (series, titer, or declination)
  • Varicella (series, titer, or declination)
• 9-panel drug screen within 12 months (instant acceptable)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or facility-specific declination form required during flu season
• COVID vaccination or facility-specific declination required

Additional Requirements

• Proof of current auto insurance required due to driving responsibilities
• Two professional references within 2 years of start (travel, allied, or per diem acute care)
• Full 7 years of work history documented with no gaps
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable

Contract Length

• Approximately 13 weeks

This position is ideal for experienced Home Health RNs with recent OASIS and HCHB EMR experience who are comfortable with a flexible travel territory and timely, accurate documentation. First-time travel nurses will not be considered.
