Job Opportunity: Temporary Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) – Days

Location: Tyndall, South Dakota
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform timely, accurate, and quality clinical laboratory tests and basic laboratory functions.
• Collect, handle, and process specimens appropriately for diagnostic testing.
• Document diagnostic testing and perform quality control/calibration with participation in quality assessment and improvement activities.
• Conduct maintenance, calibrations, and function checks on laboratory equipment.
• Provide care aligned with the needs of the population served in the laboratory setting.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), including experience within the last year.
• Active ASCP or AMT certification (or equivalent certification accepted).
• High phlebotomy experience with the ability to perform blood draws.

• The facility is a Critical Access Hospital licensed for 25 acute care beds, offering a range of diagnostic and treatment services for both inpatients and outpatients.
• Orientation hours are nonbillable.
