Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) - Temporary Night Shift

Job Description

• Perform medical laboratory tests, procedures, experiments, and analyses to aid in diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention.
• Conduct chemical analyses of body fluids including blood, urine, spinal fluids, and gastric juices to determine normal and abnormal components.
• Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques.
• Prepare blood, plasma, and platelets for transfusions by performing blood group, type, and compatibility testing.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment such as analyzers, spectrophotometers, colorimeters, and flame photometers, including calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and inventory management.
• Manage laboratory supplies inventory by monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
• Provide medical technology information and prepare reports summarizing findings.
• Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education and participation in professional societies.
• Adhere to quality assurance and quality improvement standards, infection control, hazardous waste policies, and safety protocols.
• Identify and resolve problems related to laboratory operations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), including experience within the last year.
• ASCP certification required.
