Occupational Therapist (OT) - Temp Position

Location: Brattleboro, Vermont
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Provide occupational therapy services to patients with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed occupational therapy. This is an outpatient day position.


Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of OT experience
    • Behavioral health experience preferred and must be recent (within the last 3 months)
  • Licensure:
    • Licensed by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
    • Active Vermont or Compact OT license required
  • Certifications: American Heart Association BLS certification required
  • Behavioral Health: Experience and age groups worked with must be clearly listed on the resume
  • Flexibility: Must be willing to float to other units and take charge shifts
  • References: Two supervisory references from the last 2 years of employment required
  • Documentation:
    • OT skills checklist from within the last year
    • Resume must list all age groups worked with
  • Travel Experience: First-time travelers will be considered (prior travel experience NOT required)
  • Other:
    • Must be able to start on 3/2 (no exceptions)
    • Return to Office (RTO) blackout dates apply; RTO cannot exceed 7 days
    • Driver’s license or candidate’s address must be included in submission (candidates living within 35 miles will have a rate adjustment)

Work Environment & Location Notes

  • Brattleboro is a rural area with limited housing and public transportation options; candidates should plan accordingly.
  • The town offers a vibrant downtown with restaurants, arts, and outdoor activities such as swimming, fishing, kayaking, and biking.

Scheduling & Policies

  • Holiday and call-back shifts paid at 1.25x the base rate (minimum 2 hours for call-back)
  • Unbillable orientation: 8 hours
  • The facility reserves the right to cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract

Summary

This is a 13-week temporary OT position in a behavioral health outpatient setting requiring at least 3 years of OT experience, NBCOT certification, and a Vermont or Compact license. Behavioral health experience is preferred and must be recent. Flexibility to float and take charge shifts is required. First-time travelers are welcome. Candidates must be able to start on 3/2 and comply with submission requirements.
