Job Opportunity: Certified Surgical Technician (CST)

Job Description

• Support cardiac, vascular, and thoracic call every 3rd week (Monday to Monday).
• When no cases are scheduled for these services, support daily staffing needs on other service lines.
• Shift schedule includes two 7:00 AM–7:30 PM shifts and two 7:00 AM–3:30 PM shifts per week.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Surgical Technologist experience must be within the last year.
• Must hold a valid permanent Certified Surgical Technician license or certification.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• COVID-19 vaccine preferred but not required (medical or religious exemptions accepted).
• Positive MMR titers within the last 15 years or appropriate booster schedule.
• Positive Varicella titers within the last 15 years or appropriate booster schedule.
• Tdap vaccination within the last 10 years (no declinations accepted).
• Hepatitis B vaccination series completed or signed declination form accepted.
• Annual Influenza vaccine required during flu season (October–March) or must comply with masking and declination protocols.
• 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) TB test within the last 6 months; if positive, clear chest X-ray and current TB questionnaire required.
• Fit test for N95 respirators completed within 1 year prior to start and updated annually.
• Physical exam within one year prior to start confirming ability to work without restrictions.
• Criminal background check within 6 months prior to start, including Social Security trace and county searches for the last 7 years, national sex offender registry, and OIG exclusion check.
• Ohio fingerprinting and FBI background checks as applicable based on residency duration.
• Drug screen within 60 days prior to start (10-panel, lab report required; instant screens not accepted).
• Verification of highest education level and employment history within the last 5 years through third-party verification.
• Completion of required skills checklist, competency exam (minimum 80% score), and core competencies (HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission topics) within 1 year prior to start.
• Completion of required safety and compliance training modules prior to clearance, with annual renewal.
• Non-expired photo ID required.
• Resume including education and work history.
• Two professional references from within the last 2 years.
• Completed job application form.
• Employment history verification form (specific to prior employer verification).
• Badge photo (headshot, shoulders up, plain background, JPEG format).
