Job Opportunity: Radiology Technician - Interventional Radiology

Location: Traverse City, Michigan
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Integral member of the Interventional Radiology team providing care for patients undergoing image-guided procedures.
• Perform radiological and technical tasks using C-arm and fluoroscopy equipment to visualize anatomy for diagnostic and interventional purposes.
• Scrub cases alongside physicians and assist physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Must be able to take call on weeknights, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis and be available to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes.

Shift: 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
On-Call Requirements:

• One weeknight per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• One weekend out of every three (Friday 3:30 PM – Tuesday 7:00 AM)
• One holiday rotation on call

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist, including experience within the last year.
• Required Certifications:

  • ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, active at start date.

Required Licenses & Certifications

• ARRT Certification
• BLS Certification

Additional Onboarding Requirements

• Proof of MMR vaccination or positive titer
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30), no declinations accepted except approved medical/religious exemptions
• Negative TB test (T-spot or QuantiFERON preferred within last 6 months) or 2-step skin test within last 6 months; if positive, chest X-ray and screening questionnaire required
• Proof of Varicella vaccination or positive titer (history not accepted)
• Fit for Duty health statement completed within 1 year of start
• Drug screen results within 90 days prior to start
• Driver’s license or state ID
• Social Security card
• Completion of core competency exams (OSHA & JC) and skill-specific competencies
• Professional references: Minimum 2 from managers, supervisors, or charge roles (attestations not accepted)
• Criminal background check (7-year national, including aliases and sex offender database) within 90 days
• Education and employment verifications (previous 2 years)
• OIG, OFAC, National Sex Offender searches within 90 days
• Completed I-9 attestation
• Emergency contact form

Additional Information

• Hospital provides navy scrubs
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner
• Preferred certifications (not required): Vascular Interventional Radiology or Cardiovascular Intervention

Summary

This position is ideal for a Radiology Technician with at least 2 years of interventional radiology experience who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment requiring on-call availability including nights, weekends, and holidays. Required certifications and health screenings must be current and verifiable.
