Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: May be needed for day or night shift; no call expected
Hours per Week: 40

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field
3 years of experience
Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification through ASCP or AMT
Flu vaccine required

Key Responsibilities

Perform a full range of laboratory testing, including CLIA-defined high-complexity testing
Evaluate and interpret test results, resolve inconsistencies, and troubleshoot problems
Support quality control, equipment maintenance, and laboratory procedures
Train staff and students, assist with competency evaluation, and participate in continuing education
Help maintain compliance with regulatory standards and prepare for inspections

Preferred Experience

Blood bank and phlebotomy experience

Additional Information

Housing and transportation are not provided
Start date depends on fingerprint card processing
Applicants must live at least 100+ miles from the facility address
