Medical Laboratory Scientist
Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: May be needed for day or night shift; no call expected
Hours per Week: 40
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field
- 3 years of experience
- Clinical Laboratory Scientist certification through ASCP or AMT
- Flu vaccine required
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of laboratory testing, including CLIA-defined high-complexity testing
- Evaluate and interpret test results, resolve inconsistencies, and troubleshoot problems
- Support quality control, equipment maintenance, and laboratory procedures
- Train staff and students, assist with competency evaluation, and participate in continuing education
- Help maintain compliance with regulatory standards and prepare for inspections
Preferred Experience
- Blood bank and phlebotomy experience

- Housing and transportation are not provided
- Start date depends on fingerprint card processing
