ICU Registered Nurse

Location

• Freeport, Illinois

Contract

• 13 weeks
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Start: ASAP

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required to submit
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• NIHSS certification
• 2+ years of ICU experience

Job Details

• ICU setting with 8 beds
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2–3
• RN responsibilities include titrating drips and running codes
• Floating may be required to MedSurg, Telemetry, and the ER with a full patient load
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required

Preferred

• Previous travel experience
• Meditech experience
• Code Blue Command RN experience
• Phlebotomy experience

Unit Notes

• Common patient populations include sepsis, general medical, general surgical, stroke, DKA, pneumonia, and ETOH withdrawal
• Hospitalist coverage is available 24/7
• RT support is available
• No monitor tech; RNs are responsible for telemetry strips
• Orientation includes 2 twelve-hour shifts
