Respiratory Therapist

Overview

• Location: Winnemucca, Nevada
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 12-hour days, 7 on / 7 off
• Department: Respiratory | RT

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• NRP
• CRT is acceptable
• Must have a blood gas license for NV
• 1 year of experience
• Must be comfortable working independently and being the only RT in house when needed

Preferred Qualifications

• Peds experience
• Adult experience
• NICU experience

Clinical Setting / Patient Coverage

• Covers inpatient, outpatient, ER, floor, ICU, and OB
• Assists with cardiac and pulmonary rehab if needed
• No NICU on site, but covers high-risk deliveries and C-sections
• Responds to rapid response calls

Duties

• Draws and runs ABGs, EKGs, PFTs, stress tests, and breathing treatments
• Assists the MD with intubation, with the goal of working toward independent intubation

Schedule / Staffing Notes

• Day shift may sometimes be the only RT in house
• Night shift is the only RT each shift
• May need help with nights for call-offs or vacations
• Weekend and holiday scheduling follows the 7 on / 7 off rotation

Additional Notes

• No call or standby call
• No floating
• 1–2 weeks of department-specific orientation
• Housing leads are available; candidate should confirm they have looked into housing in the area with the submittal
• RT equipment includes Hamilton C1 vents, Philips Respironics V60 bipaps, Vapotherm, and Airvo
