Registered Nurse

Job Overview

• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Active ACLS and BLS
• At least 2 years of nursing experience
• Critical access experience
• Ability to work both ER and MedSurg as needed
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Team-oriented approach

Preferred Qualifications

• ER experience
• Ability to read strips and manage drips
• Previous travel experience is preferred

Work Setting / Patient Care

• Med/surg floor with acutely ill patients and swing bed patients
• May float to the ER
• Rural emergency cases may include farm accidents, orthopedic injuries, kidney stones, and flu
• No OB services
• No vents; patients are stabilized and transferred

Schedule / Coverage Expectations

• Schedule is created by the manager
• Every other weekend
• Holidays are worked as needed, including one or two during holiday season
• May need to work day and night shifts depending on assignment needs

Additional Notes

• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• May need to set up BiPAP and CPAP
• Nurses may need to mix their own medications after hours
• No visible tattoos or piercings
