• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: As needed
• Patient Ratios: Typically 1:5, possibly 1:6 for both day and night shifts
• Unit Size: 44 beds, staffed by 40 nurses
• Telemetry: Yes, but monitored on a different unit
• Floating: Required to float to all acute care and cardiology units, including emergency care for acute care patient holds
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Orientation

• General orientation: 1 week (includes EMR training)
• Floor-specific orientation: 2 days

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (Acute Care MedSurg)
• Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
• Certifications Required: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS (both must be AHA)
• EMR Experience: Meditech experience preferred but not required

Additional Requirements

• Strict 75-mile radius from the address on the traveler's driver’s license to the hospital (address must be verified before proceeding)

Work Environment

• Nurse aides/CNAs available with ratios generally 1:8 to 1:10, sometimes used as sitters
• Shift times approximately 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
