Role Overview

• PCU RN position on a PCU Oncology unit.
• Adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients.
• 18 beds.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of experience.
• BLS.
• ACLS.
• NIHSS.
• Driver’s license required at submittal.
• First-time travelers accepted.

Preferred Qualifications

• Oncology experience.
• CHEMO CERT.
• ONS/ONCC.

Schedule

• 13-week contract.
• 12-hour night shifts.
• Every other weekend.
• Self-scheduling, balanced to unit needs.
• 36 hours per week.

Float Scope

• Floats to other Med/Surg and PCU units.
• Float assignments remain at the same level of care.

Unit Details

• Two days of unit orientation.
• Ratios: 1:4-1:5 on days and nights.
• Common drips/medications include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix.
• RNs occasionally titrate insulin and Cardizem drips.
• Respiratory equipment commonly encountered includes high flow.
• Epic is used for EMR.
• Alaris IV pumps are used.
• Lyko lifts are available in even-numbered rooms, with additional lift equipment available.
