ICU Registered Nurse

Overview

Travel assignment in Redding, California
13-week contract
12-hour day shifts
36 hours per week
Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

Active California RN license
BLS and ACLS
2-3 years of ICU specialty experience
Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies
Trauma experience
Experience with post-tPA patients if not experienced with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies
Ability to titrate vasopressors and sedation
Must be able to interpret telemetry strips
COVID vaccine required

PALS
Previous travel experience

Unit Details

ICU / Trauma ICU
30 beds
Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 to 1:2
Intensivist available 24/7
Respiratory therapy assigned to ICU 24/7
Unit tech support available

Scheduling and Work Expectations

Self-scheduling may be available, pending manager review
Block scheduling is not available
Travelers may be moved if needed
No call or standby requirement
Floating may include PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surg units
Fast-paced unit with high expectations for teamwork and communication

Orientation

1 day on unit, with additional orientation if needed

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
