12-hour day and evening shifts

Required Qualifications

Active California RN license
BLS
ACLS
PALS
2 years of ER experience
Experience working in a high-volume, high-acuity ER

Preferred

TNCC
Travel experience
Level II trauma experience or higher

Schedule

Every other weekend
Holidays worked into the permanent staff rotation
Call: one day per month, with the possibility of two days per month depending on the call schedule
Self-scheduling by seniority

Unit Details

28-bed ER with 4 fast-track spaces and 2 trauma bays
Typical patient volume: 155 patients per day
Common patient types include trauma, stroke, pediatrics, and psych
Charge nurse does not take a patient assignment
Nurse aides/EMTs are present on shift
Vents are supported
No floating
Floor-specific orientation: 2–3 shifts

Additional Notes

Candidates may be asked to take a proctored dysrhythmia test on day one
Holiday time off is considered but not guaranteed
Navy scrubs required

Great hospital. Kind and friendly staff.

Cons

The cafeteria is a hit and miss. Some days they have great sea food with saffron rice! Some days microwaved food :D. But there is alwaaaaays, pizza available ;)
