Job Opportunity: MS/Tele Float Pool Nurse – Denver/Zone 3 (Colorado)

Location

• City: Centennial, CO
• Zone: Zone 3 (60-mile radius around Denver, CO)
• Must be able to float within multiple facilities in the zone

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Unit/Department

• MS-Tele Float Pool
• Float across multiple units including:

  • General MS-Tele
  • Cardiac
  • Neuro
  • Oncology
  • Rehab
  • Renal
  • Bariatrics
  • Orthopedics
  • Trauma
  • Emergency Department Observation

Patient Population

• Adults to Geriatrics
• Common diagnoses: Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery post-appendectomy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, stable long-term placement patients, and more

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

• 1:5-6 depending on acuity

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• NIHSS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of MS-Tele experience (higher requirement if discrepancy)
• Prior neuro experience preferred (not mandatory)

Skills & Responsibilities

• Ability to titrate Heparin drips
• Expected to float across various acuity levels including ICU (low acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele
• Must be flexible to fill gaps in permanent scheduling
• Charge nurse present on each unit; usually does not take patient assignments unless necessary
• Work with nurse aides and respiratory therapy equipment (vents, CPAP, BiPAP)

Scheduling & Shifts

• Shift: 7am – 7pm
• Schedule created by leadership for 6 weeks at a time
• 6-9 weekend shifts required in each 6-week schedule
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• Rare call or standby requirements (only for low census)
• All time off requests must be submitted prior to assignment start

Orientation

• 1-2 days unit/department specific orientation with a preceptor
• Week of orientation must be completed in-state (some modules may be remote)

Additional Information

• No home base facility; must be able to float throughout the entire 60-mile zone
• Responsible for securing housing that allows floating within the zone
• Scrub color/dress code: Any color allowed
• Float assignments communicated before or on start date

• Not explicitly required
