Job Opportunity: Mammography Technologist

Location: Redwood City, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Mammography Technologist for a travel assignment in a hospital setting. The role involves working with typical hospital patients including ER, OR, inpatient, and outpatient cases.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in mammography
• Active BLS certification
• Certified Mammography Technologist (ARRT Mammography)
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT Radiology)
• Certification through the State of California for Mammography Technologists
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

• Tomography training or experience is highly desirable
• Fluoroscopy permit is a plus (enables work in OR and routine radiology)
• CT certification and experience is a plus
• Venipuncture experience is a plus
• Experience working in OR settings is desirable
• Advanced certifications are a plus but not required

Work Details

• Workload: Patients scheduled approximately 1 per hour, including inpatients and ER patients
• Typical schedule: 8-hour shifts, 10-hour days possible
• Weekend and holiday coverage may be required depending on proficiency and radiologist approval
• Orientation varies by experience and specialty area (1 day to 1 week)
• Equipment used includes Siemens CT scanners (64 & 128 slice) and Phillips ultrasound machines
• EMR system: Cerner

Additional Information

• Candidates must provide documentation of continuing education units (CEUs) in mammography and tomography for the past 2 years
• Prior mammography procedure numbers for the last 2 years required
• Scrubs provided by the hospital
