Physical Therapist Travel Assignment

Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Physical Therapist license in North Carolina
  • Physical Therapist (2 years of experience)
  • Physical Therapist experience within the last year
  • BLS
  • Minimum degree required

Clinical Focus

  • Patient populations include TBI, stroke, orthopedics, cardiac, spinal cord injury, pulmonary, and debility
  • Experience with safe patient handling, interdisciplinary communication, family training, and DME recommendations
  • Familiarity with preventing complications such as autonomic dysreflexia, bowel/bladder program management, and skin integrity / pressure ulcer prevention

Unit Environment

  • 80 beds
  • Typical staffing includes 1 unit secretary and 2 rehab techs
  • Dedicated to the rehab facility rather than a float position, though it may be flexed
  • Central scheduling is used

Procedures / Equipment

  • Equipment includes Sara Stedy, Sara Plus, Hoyer, Viking, and sliding boards
  • Procedures performed on the unit include e-stim, ultrasound, splinting, wound care, and limb wrapping

Additional Notes

  • Teaching hospital with active student rotations
  • Specialized equipment is available to support therapy care
