Position Overview

  • Role: Registered Respiratory Therapist - Children’s
  • Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, varied shifts with rotating days of the week
  • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
  • Call Requirements: None
  • Contract Length: 12 weeks

Licenses & Certifications Required

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
  • Nevada State License (must have in hand to submit application)
  • Nevada State Point of Care Analyst license (required within 6 months of hire)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of acute care respiratory therapy experience

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform respiratory therapy procedures per protocol and physician orders to improve cardiopulmonary conditions in patients ranging from newborn to geriatric
  • Provide respiratory care primarily in adult critical care, adult general care, and pediatric general care units
  • May provide respiratory care at secondary care sites as needed
  • Integrate respiratory care with other healthcare providers to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Properly document all patient records and department logs
  • Stay current with technological advances and clinical applications in respiratory care
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for Neonatal, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients and families
  • Demonstrate ability to address physical, motor/sensory, cognitive, and psychosocial needs of patients
  • Perform and evaluate respiratory care, initiate CPR, and contact physicians as necessary
  • May be required to float within the organization up to competency level
  • Required to pick up one additional shift during the schedule period
  • Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and some call shifts

  • Offers advanced technologies including accredited heart failure center, Institute for Neurosciences, low-dose CT imaging, Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, PET/CT scanner, Biplane Angiography, and 3T MRI technologies
