Job Summary
Provide routine and complex nursing care independently in a cardiac and telemetry unit (not a stepdown unit). Manage patient care using the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegate tasks appropriately and address psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administer medications and treatments, monitor effectiveness and side effects, and document patient information accurately. Educate patients, families, and caregivers as needed.
Work Schedule
- Dayshift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On Call: None
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 to 6:1 depending on staffing
- Floating to other locations: Required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
- Minimum 1 year of telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Patient Population
- Cardiac and telemetry patients (not a stepdown unit)

- Temp-to-perm opportunity possible
This position requires a competent nurse able to work independently in a fast-paced telemetry environment with cardiac patients, providing high-quality care and patient education.
