RN - OBS

Location: Golden, Colorado Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts (1900-0730), 36 hours per week; weekends rotate (Step-down/PCU candidates)

Job Summary

• Performs independent and delegated nursing functions under state Board of Nursing practice standards.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care, including health teaching, health counseling, and documentation.
• Executes delegated medical functions, refers patients for further evaluation or treatment, and monitors therapy and treatment plans.
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications, based on business need.
• May be required to be placed on call during a regularly scheduled shift.

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid Registered Nurse license in Colorado (single-state or compact license for Step-down/PCU candidates)
• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIHSS certification for Step-down/PCU candidates
• ACLS, NRP, or PALS as appropriate for the unit or service
• 1+ years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience, with PCU experience within the last year for Step-down/PCU candidates
• Observation experience

• Ortho surgical trauma
• Acuity-adaptable unit (step-down example: patients on insulin drips or with sepsis)
