Job Opportunity: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II
Location: Grand Blanc, Michigan
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Tech II with comprehensive knowledge and skills in cardiac catheterization procedures, cardiac and vascular physiology, and related medical terminology. The role involves assisting with orientation and training of Cath Lab staff, participating in special projects and committees, and adhering to medical ethics.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand cardiac, vascular, respiratory, and renal physiology and pathology.
- Recognize and interpret ECG waveforms, lethal arrhythmias, and ECG changes related to heart chamber enlargement and myocardial infarctions.
- Demonstrate proficiency in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Monitor diagnostic cardiac catheter procedures and intervene appropriately during lethal arrhythmias.
- Identify coronary anatomy in cine angiographic projections and cardiac pressure waveforms.
- Calculate hemodynamic parameters and document catheterization events.
- Prepare and set up supplies for diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
- Perform cardiac outputs, oxygen saturations, and Activated Clotting Time (ACT) measurements.
- Monitor percutaneous interventions and differentiate between various atherectomy techniques.
- Understand extraction devices and thrombolytic therapy indications and complications.
- Utilize intravascular ultrasound and Doppler velocimetry technologies.
- Recognize indications for electrophysiologic testing, pacemaker implants, therapeutic ablation, and implantable cardioverter defibrillators.
- Operate Cath Lab fluoroscopy system components to assist physicians during procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of ECG and cardiac pathologies.
- Knowledge of cardiac medications, pharmacokinetics, and documentation standards.
- Ability to recognize abnormalities in clinical laboratory values (Arterial Blood Gases, electrolytes, hemoglobin, BUN, creatinine).
- Ability to perform all components of cardiopulmonary resuscitation for cardiac arrest patients.
- Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.
Experience
- Specialty Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years (interpreted from contract length and job complexity).
