Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a designated group of patients, utilizing the nursing process, current nursing trends, technology, and resources within the institution’s philosophy.

Essential Functions

Perform all unit-specific nursing responsibilities within the scope of service.
Implement procedures and theories related to neuro nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by reporting and addressing hazards.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
Identify personal learning needs and pursue professional development.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum 3 years of neurology nursing experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
