Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist
Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota
Employment Type: Long Term Contract (Approximately 29 weeks)
Setting: Outpatient Clinic and Specialty Center - Adult Speech Pathology
Contract Length
- Approximately 29 weeks (interpreted as weeks based on value)
- Dates: January 12 or January 19, 2026 through July 31, 2026

- 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
Job Summary
Seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to provide evaluation and treatment for adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders, including:
- Aphasia
- Right hemisphere cognitive deficit
- Moderate/severe traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Dysarthria
- Dysphagia
Experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies is required. MBSimP certification is desired.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct clinical services using standardized and impressionistic techniques to evaluate patients with communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders (e.g., aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, oropharyngeal dysphagia, reading/writing disorders, impaired perception, articulation disorders)
- Plan and administer speech-language, cognitive, and/or swallowing plans of care
- Document progress through daily notes and care plan summaries per department standards
- Provide education and counseling to patients and/or family members within the scope of speech pathology
- Complete initial evaluation and discharge documentation within 48 hours for outpatients; inpatient documentation on day of service
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and ancillary team members to coordinate high-quality patient care
- Complete daily charge entry, inpatient check-in, and billing requirements as per department standards
- Coordinate patient care with clinical team members to ensure optimal care and communication
- Ensure excellent patient handoffs during case sharing or coverage periods
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and standards, including continuing education requirements
Qualifications
Education
- Master’s Degree or Doctorate in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
Licenses/Certifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Speech Language Pathologist license with Minnesota Department of Health
- CPR certification for Healthcare Professionals
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of ASHA policies, procedures, practice standards, and counseling techniques
- Knowledge of documentation standards in speech pathology
- Ability to work cooperatively with medical team members
- Ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Experience Requirements
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies required
- No explicit years of experience stated; assume minimum standard for licensed SLPs with CCC certification
